Looks Like Klout is Ready to Join API Billionaires Club
Klout, the analytics company that measures users' influences across social networks, appears ready to enter, what John Musser of ProgrammableWeb has coined the API Billionaires Club. Processing about one billion API calls per month (serving more than two billion API calls in only June) across its 3,000 partner partner-developers, Klout has clearly blown the waters with its rapid growth in just a few months.
Klout CEO Joe Fernandez, who hopes Klout will become a "standard" in the social media realm, describes his company as a necessary resource for influencers, offering a type of "social credit score." Several big branded companies, including Audi and Hewlett-Packard, have all discovered the usefulness of Klout's campaigns.
As a Mashery customer, Klout has not only been able to successfully leverage the deluge of data but also see the infinite ways that other companies are leveraging the Klout API. Utilized by a number of key influencers and high-profile websites and apps like The Huffington Post, HootSuite, and Radian 6, the Klout API has proven to be a huge influencer for any company dealing with customer loyalty, support and directed offers.
Congratulations, Klout!
