Yellow Pages Group's API Checks In with Foursquare
The thing we love most at Mashery is seeing our customers extend their brands in incredible new ways through their APIs. So you can imagine how thrilled we are about today's announcements from Yellow Pages Group and Foursquare.
Yellow Pages Group (YPG), Canada's leading performance media and marketing solutions company, will participate in Foursquare's venue harmonization project, enabling a whole new breed of location-based apps. YPG is making 1.5 million Canadian business listings accessible to Foursquare through yellowAPI.com, and developers can use the API to integrate Foursquare functionality into their apps.
Nicolas Gaudreau, Vice-President, Digital & Print Media, Acquisition & Retention at Yellow Pages Group, says agreements like this one increase the value proposition of YPG's public API by giving advertisers new exposure in major social networking destinations. The new partnership means additional growth for YPG, but also for YPG advertisers.
Mashery congratulates our customer YPG for being the first Canadian company to participate in the Foursquare project!
